QinetiQ signs lease in Reston - Baltimore Business Journal:

As the incoming lead tenant inthe 196,000 square-foof Class A office building at 11091 Sunset Hills Road in its 11-year lease starts lateer this year. McLean-based QinetiQ North America, a subsidiaryh of London-based QinetiQ that offerws technology-based defense and security products and services tothe government, said its 42-percenrt revenue growth over its last fiscal year has partly been due to its role in the intelligence and cybetr security markets and new work with the Department of Homeland Securith and NASA. It will be the fifth U.S. officde for the company, which is also in Fairfax, Huntsville, Ala. and Mass.
The tenant was represented by Robb Johnson andDee MacDonald-Milleer of Jones Lang LaSalle. Vardell Realty Investments LLC was represented byMike Shuler, Rob Walters and Nate Krilo of Millennium Realty Advisors LLC. 400 program management-type employees be relocating from variouse offices in Fairfax County into the Reston Down the road in 2011or 2012, the numbetr of employees at the site will doubles to 800. Out of the 400 moving in, 75 will be part of QinetiQ’s technology solutions group and the othet 325 will be part of its missionjsolutions group. “Like any company trying to attracyt andretain high-quality people, we were lookinyg for more than just a building.
This buildinhg has environmentally-friendly features the new generation of employee islooking for,” said Matthew Warnock, director of public relationsa at QinetiQ. He said the building will also help cut down onoverheacd “by a great deal,” with expectes savings of 65 to 70 percent on powed consumption through the use of virtualization software and green technologh to reduce heating and utility costs.
He adds that the buildinf sits right off a bike traio and was built onan east-to-west which means employees can take advantage of a full day of sunlight and cut down on
